Atari Coming Back to Life?
0 CommentsPosted by Chris on November 24, 2009 under News
Some of my earliest video game memories include the Atari 2600, and other than Commodore, no other company out there has as much sentimental value to me. While the days of Nolan Bushnell are long gone and the property has bounced around between holding companies for a while, it looks like the Atari brand is coming back with a new tactic. Online games. Their new website includes a bunch of f... more. -
Trine Review

Trine is a game that could fall in under several categories, including action, adventure, platformer, strategy and puzzle. Trine is like a classic game with a shiny new face. From the very start, the game's intro sucks you in and makes you feel like you are about to embark on an epic journey. Developed by Frozenbyte, Trine has received excellent review scores across the board, as well as several e... more. -
FTC Brings Out the Gimp

Bend over reviewers. It appears the FTC is trying to clean up the blogosphere. They've just come out with requirements that bloggers must disclose any freebies or payments on reviews they do. Be interesting to see what really comes out of this and if they actually make any effort to do something about this or it's just a lot of lip service. Regardless, I wonder how all those game review s... more. -
Funcom Layoffs and The Secret World Delay

This is very unfortunate news as gamesindustry.biz reports on Funcom layoffs and the delay of The Secret World. Apparently Funcom will cut its workforce by 20% to cut costs. As a result, The Secret World will be delayed by a few months while they re-organize. This comes as fairly unexpected news considering the company recently announced it would be opening a new studio in Quebec, Canada. But appa... more. -
Halo 3: ODST – Review

Halo 3: ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers) is a new shooter brought to us by Bungie and MS Game Studios for the XBox 360. The game takes the first foray into the Halo universe without the venerable Master Chief. As opposed to playing the super soldier we've all come to know and love, you take the role of the cliché 'Rookie' in an elite squad of UNSC troopers. The troopers drop into New Momb... more. -
Tropico 3 Preview

Developer by Haemimont Games and published by Kalypso Media, Tropico 3 is a throwback to the original Tropico, the much beloved strategy game from PopTop Software. Tropico was released in 2001 to extremely favorable reviews. The game captivated strategy and simulation fans with its excellent gameplay and tongue-in-cheek humor. In 2003, Tropico 2 was released; a decent sequel to be certain, but the... more. -

1. Ulf (German): Will you be able to build structures like fountains, plants, parks and statues and will these have an effect on your residents? Certainly, players are able to improve the aesthetics of their island with structures such as statues, fountains, and gardens. My favourite is the statue of El Presidente that looks exactly like your customized avatar. The decorative structures will ... more. -

Champions Online Counter-Review

Metacritic lists the average critic score for Champions Online as 74. Scores for the game range from 40 (GameSpy) to 87 (Vandal Online). The GameSpy review is ridiculous. Not because I necessarily disagree with their score, but because the review reads as though they didn't even play the game. And in fact, they barely made it half way through. I skipped the Vandal Online review and went straight t... more. -
The Mystery of the Mary Celeste Review
0 CommentsPosted by Staci on September 23, 2009 under Reviews
It's rare that a hidden object game has me guessing up to the end with the story. The Mystery of the Mary Celeste does just that. While not the greatest or most challenging of hidden find games, Mary Celeste has just enough to make me say it was worth playing. Of course, there was plenty to make me aggravated and disappointed as well. The story is fun and where the game shines. At times, it's a... more.
