Jeff Strain knows his thing. He was part of the success Blizzard had with Diablo and Starcraft and worked on World of Warcraft before he went on to found ArenaNet, who made Guild Wars, which in its own way was wildly successful (but it's not an MMORPG!) Now he's started another company with the fitting name of Undead Labs and is taking on the fun world of Zombies in a new MMO they just announced... more. -

Funcom Layoffs and The Secret World Delay

This is very unfortunate news as gamesindustry.biz reports on Funcom layoffs and the delay of The Secret World. Apparently Funcom will cut its workforce by 20% to cut costs. As a result, The Secret World will be delayed by a few months while they re-organize. This comes as fairly unexpected news considering the company recently announced it would be opening a new studio in Quebec, Canada. But appa... more. -

So I'm still playing my Elyos Mage Rosethornn. And I'm having a blast, truth be told. Sure, there are some little annoyances with the game. For example, when I'm booted from the server (or can't log in like yesterday, since the servers were down), instead of just booting back to the log in screen, the game completely shuts down. This means I have to restart the game, waiting through the loading sc... more. -

According to the following official representative from Blizzard Europe: The Brewfest quests ‘Pink Elekks On Parade’ and ‘Catch the Wild Wolpertinger!’ were removed to ensure that World of Warcraft contains content that complies with regional game rating requirements. If you're not taking part in this month's event, you may not know about these quests. Basically, the idea in both of th... more. -
Champions Online Counter-Review
36 CommentsPosted by Eevi on September 23, 2009 under Reviews, Spotlight
Metacritic lists the average critic score for Champions Online as 74. Scores for the game range from 40 (GameSpy) to 87 (Vandal Online). The GameSpy review is ridiculous. Not because I necessarily disagree with their score, but because the review reads as though they didn't even play the game. And in fact, they barely made it half way through. I skipped the Vandal Online review and went straight t... more.
